In-House Rules
Below you will find a list of soccer rules and infractions that will be expected at each division. Not all rules of the game will be enforced at each division. This allows the children to learn as they grow through each division.

DIVISION I

1.  3 players per side (No Goalie)

2.  2- 15 minute halves, ball size 3

The following rules will apply to Division I. On field coaches will referee at this level. One coach per team will be allowed on the field thoughout play to assist players (coaches are encouraged to keep instructions simple and basic at this level and allow players to learn the game through the game) and referee. The coaches will call the following infractions:

3.  Hand Balls

  • Incidental handballs – The referee will not stop the play of the game, but will remind players to keep there hands down.
  • Blatant handballs result in change of possession with the opposing team kicking the ball from the point of infraction.
4.  Ball Out of Bounds
  • Over sidelines – results in opposing team kick in. Yielding distance for all kicks will be 5yds. At this division, 2-3 chances are given for correct technique. Referees can help teach a proper throw in.
  • Over the Endlines- results in either a corner kick or goal kick. (see Glossary) Referees will also help team to set up and teach these plays.
5.  Pushing, Shoving, Slide Tackling
  • All of these are not allowed. No formal penalty will be given at this division. However, the referee will give a warning on the first offense. Repeated offenses and extremely aggressive behavior will result in the player being removed from the game for 2-3 minutes to "cool down." The coach at this time should remind the player of proper field behavior.

DIVISION II

1.   5 players per side (4 Field Players; 1 Goalie)

2.   2-20 minute halves, ball size 3.  A single referee system will be utilized.

3.   All Division I rules (1-3) apply.

  • Off sides – no formal penalty will be called in this division. Referees will encourage the   offensive player to get back onside.
  • Coaches should teach the concept of off sides but not over emphasize.

DIVISION III

1.   6 Players per side (5 Field Players; 1 Goalie)

2.   2-25 minute halves, ball size 4. A single referee system will be utilized.

3.   Handballs

  • All handballs will be called (incidental or blatant) which will result in the opponent getting an indirect kick from the point of the infraction.

4.  Ball Out of Bounds

  • Over sidelines – results in opposing team throw in. At this division, 2-3 chances are given for correct technique. Referees can help teach a proper throw in. 

  • Over the Endlines – results in either a corner kick or goal kick. (See Glossary) By this division, players should know when it is a corner kick or goal kick.

5.   Pushing, Shoving, Slide Tackling

  • THESE ARE NOT ALLOWED. Results either a direct free kick or penalty kick. Location of foul determines which. Referee to make call. Coaches should remind the player of proper field behavior.

6.  Off Sides

  •  A modified penalty will be called at this level. A penalty will be called only when a player is in an obvious offsides position. Results in change of possession at the point of the foul 

DIVISION IV

1.   9 Players per side (8 Field Players; 1 Goalie)

2.   2-30 minute halves, ball size 4. Dual referee or preferably a 3 referee system will be utilized

3.   All Rules apply as above with the exception that an improper throw-in will result in change of possession after a single attempt. 

DIVISION V

 

 1.   9 Players per side (8 Field Players; 1 Goalie)

2.   2-35 minute halves, ball size 5
