Schedule Changes: At times it is necessary to reschedule or cancel games based on teams dropping out, weather, unavailability of fields or many other unforeseen reasons. It is the responsibility of each teams coach or manager to become aware of any schedule changes and communicate them to the rest of their players. It is the responsibility to check at the main tent periodically for any changes, especially at the end of the day and the beginning of each day. Every attempt will be made to contact each team based on the contact phone number given at registration. Any rescheduled games that are missed will be counted as a forfeit.

Protests: The opposing coach and referee must be notified of a protest prior to leaving the field of play, and noted on the game card. The protest must be submitted in writing and accompanied by a $25 protest bond to the main tent within 1 hour of the match completion. If a protest is upheld, forfeiture will be awarded (in favor of the non-offending team) for the protested match and the $25 protest bond will also be refunded. If the protest is not upheld, the $25 protest bond is forfeited. Be aware that the referee’s judgment on the field is not valid for protests, and will be upheld. Red cards may not be protested.

Reporting of Scores: The referees are responsible for the game and will report the score of all games to the Field Coordinator at the field. The scores will then be reported to the main tent and be posted on the scoreboards and ONLINE for HOME VIEWING. Red cards and sideline ejections will also be recorded.

Forfeit: A team unable to field 7 players at scheduled starting time will forfeit the match. 3 points will be awarded to the opponent, and the score 1-0.

Scoring for Preliminaries:

1. Win – 3 points

2. Draw – 1 point

3. Loss – 0 points

Note: In the case of a “BYE” because of a no show or cancellation, a score of 1-0 (3 points) will be awarded to the winning team. The Tournament Director will make every effort to try to find a replacement team when a cancellation occurs, and reschedule the game if possible.

Tie Breaking:

1. Winner of head to head competition.

2. Most number of wins.

3. Difference between goals scored and goals against. (max 4 points)

4. Least number of goals against.

5. Least number of losses.

6. Penalty kick or coin toss (Tournament Directors discretion).

Home Team: The Home Team is listed first and will be responsible for uniform color change in the event of uniform color conflict. The Home Team is also responsible for providing the game ball. Players from both teams will be placed on the same side of the field. All spectators will be placed on the opposite side of the field from all players. Conduct: All coaches have total responsibility for the conduct of their players, coaching staff, and team spectators. At no time shall foul or abusive language or misconduct be permitted at any field or other facilities being used for the tournament. Coaches who are either unable or unwilling to control themselves or their sidelines may be cautioned or sent off. Coaches or spectators being sent off will be treated the same as if a player is red carded. The team will be penalized 1 point for each send off due to misconduct. Coaches that are not satisfied with their referee can fill out a report and submit it to the main tent.

Termination of Play: If in the opinion of the referee, game play must be terminated for misconduct of the coach, players and/or spectators, the referee will record the current score and report that the game was terminated and why. The offending players, coaches and team will also be recorded. The Tournament Director will determine disciplinary action and penalties as well as the result of the game. Offending teams can expect to lose 3 points in their standings.

Representatives from each team must report to the main tent immediately. Red Card Procedures: Any player or coach receiving 2 yellow cards or 1 red card in a game will be sent off from that game. In addition, said player(s) will not take part in the next game of the tournament. A red card for violent conduct may result in either a three game suspension or elimination from further play in the tournament as determined by the Tournament Director. If any such penalty cannot be fully served during this tournament, the penalty must be completed during the next regularly scheduled league or tournament game. (not to include Snickers State Cup or President’s Cup games) All red cards will be reported to BWNYJSL and NYSW. If a red card is given in the last game of the tournament, the player’s pass will be given to Roger Jank at his residence within 24 hours of the completion of the tournament. The player and the coach will then be told of how they can retrieve that pass. All other passes must be picked up at the maintent after the game suspension has been served. Ejections due to fighting or other violent misconduct will result in the loss of a team point in the tournament standings for each player ejected. Ejections due to the accumulation of yellow cards, or other “part of the game” offenses will not result in losing a team point in the tournament standings. The Tournament Director will decide all point penalties in this regard.

Overtime: All preliminary games will have NO OVERTIME period and may end in a tie (see scoring for preliminaries section). All semi-final and final games that end in a draw will have 1 overtime period of 10 minutes, and the first team to score during the overtime period will win the game. There will be a 2-minute break between the overtime periods. If the game is still a draw after the overtime period, penalty kicks per FIFA rules will be used to determine the Champion and the Runner-up.

General: The Tournament Director’s interpretation of the foregone rules and regulations shall be final. The tournament Director reserves the right to decide on all matters pertaining to the tournament.
