

On Tuesday May, 5th, the Akron Girl’s U-12 Travel team defeated the Ken-Ton girl’s Travel team 3-1. Akron registered 9 shots in the first half, while Ken-Ton posted 4. Stephanie Paquin scored Akron’s first goal by a quality cross from Maggie. Akron’s defense was able to shut out Ken-Ton’s offense.
The second half proved to be rewarding for the Akron Girls. Alex scored on a penalty kick, which was rewarded due to a handball in the box off of a Akron’s corner kick. Alex netted Akron’s third and final goal from a outside pass from the midfield. Akron ended the half with 11 shots and 2 goals. Ken-Ton pierced through Akron’s defense scoring on a break-away in the last minutes of the game.
Cailin, played a solid game at midfield helping to set-up all of Akron’s goals. A hard fought game was had by all. The ladies just came off from a 5-0 loss in a championship game in the Kick It First Tournament! Congrats to all!
