Our Travel Soccer Program...
The purpose of the Akron Soccer League travel program is to provide a balanced program that affords opportunities for maximum skill development and the challenge of playing at a higher level of competition.
Akron Soccer League travel teams will be established to provide an opportunity for players who both desire more advanced play and have appropriate level of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
It is the aim of all Akron Soccer League travel teams to meet the developmental needs of a travel player, taking into account a player’s physical, mental, and social growth and developmental needs as well as player/parent commitment.
The Akron Soccer League will support the formation of boy’s and girl’s teams for play in the BWNYJSL at the age divisions requested by the coach of each team formed. If a coach is not assigned to a team at the point of registration the Akron Soccer League Board will put the team together until a coach is found.
The Akron Soccer League will support the formation of a second team in an age group wherever possible provided there is a qualified coach and the appropriate number of players.
It is the individual travel players (and their parents) and coaches responsibility to do what is best for that players development.
